About Ma-Me

TLDR: I’m here to make your life easier!

California mama & wife, #citymama, techy girl, engineer, race car driver, lover of fashion, garage sales, travel, & the outdoors

OMG Hi! I am Jess, a product manager in the medical technology industry and proud mama to BabyH.

There is so much information out there that it can be overwhelming. I felt like I didn’t know where to start once I became pregnant and wanted some simple answers.

I created this site for my friends (both men & women) as they were navigating pregnancy and parenthood and I was getting a lot of the same questions. So I’m here to make your life easier so you can focus on what is really important.

Living in San Francisco, cost and a lack of space are two things that are at the extremes here. This can be especially challenging when becoming a new parent. Making smart decisions with your finances and focusing on the essentials is key as you prepare for the biggest moment in your life… becoming a mom.

My Mama-philosophies

My main mama-philosophies that I have been striving towards are:

  1. Second-hand is better. Babies grow out of their clothes, furniture and toys so fast that second-hand just makes sense. Environmentally and financially, a gently worn baby carrier or crib is better in so many ways than a brand new one. Let your friends and family know your stance on this, and let it be reflected in your baby registry.
  2. Less but better. Items I will talk about are not necessarily the least expensive, but they are items that I truly believe in. So if that baby carrier is out of your price range, see 1. above 🙂
  3. Us before them. Always try to remember that you became a parent out of love. There will be so many struggles that I can’t even fathom yet, but what I do know is that if my relationship with my husband is healthy and happy, our baby will have the best chance to be too.

I hope to be by your side as you navigate your journey to parenthood and form your own OMG Mama-philosophies.

Let’s do this!

-Jess
